A Look At The K63 Wireless Keyboard And Dark Core Mouse

It may be 2018, but even in our technologically rich age, we’re still constrained by the devil. And by devil, I mean “cables”. It’s annoying to have your headphone cable caught on your arm rest when you get up. It’s annoying to feel a rat’s nest of cables under your desk with your feet. It’s annoying to set your wired mouse down flat, only to see it move because the cable is pulling on it.

Enter the “Unplug and Play” gaming lifestyle Corsair’s touting with the help of a handful of wireless peripherals launched at last month’s CES. For this article in particular, I’m going to be taking a look at the MM1000 mousepad, Dark Core RGB SE mouse, and the wireless iteration of the popular K63 keyboard.

ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 review: costly performance

Routers have been commonplace for many years, and in terms of design the trend is towards “as discreet as possible” rather than “eye-catching”. The exception is the gaming routers, which are aimed at a target group that is known for liking some show pieces. ASUS, along with other manufacturers, cater to this group with their range of extreme routers. So far, none is as extreme as the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AC5300.

Corsair K63 Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Corsair recently expanded their already extensive lineup of mechanical keyboards with the K63 Wireless, which is one of the only tenkeyless keyboards on the market to offer Genuine Cherry MX switches along with a low latency 2.4GHz wireless connection. Most of the other wireless mechanical keyboards on the market use non-Cherry MX switches and a Bluetooth wireless connection, which operates at an inconsistent report rate. Intel showcases 14nm discrete GPU prototype

It recently unveiled its GPU plans and diagrams at the San Francisco ISSCC. At the IEEE International Solid State Circuits Conference in San Francisco late last week, Intel unveiled plans for a prototype discrete GPU. Designed to be built on Intel's 14nm process, the early test chip would feature 1.5 billion transistors and its clock speeds would range between 50 and 400MHz, reports Notebook Check (via PCWatch, Japan), indicating a leaning towards efficiency over raw performance.

Intel has made great progress in its integrated graphics chips over recent years. However, for any kind of modern 3D games, even its best efforts just scrape by - requiring lower detail settings, resolutions, and delivering lower fps than entry-level discrete GPUs can. On a portable platform it's easy to understand the thrifty power budgets Intel strains to keep within for its CPUs with integrated graphics.

Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Video Game Review

Monster Energy Supercross is a game that took me by surprise only a month ago. It was then that I previewed it at a hands-on event in Milan at Milestone S.r.L’s headquarters. There’s always a difficulty in having previewed a game. What can you say that you haven’t already covered? Is there anything new to cover? Has the game changed much at all? These are all major considerations.

It helps if there’s been a reasonable length of time between the preview and the review. There is also the simple fact that previewing a game at a special event does lead to unrealistic conditions. The machines are often more powerful than those at home, and you rarely end up playing an inferior (read: console) version of a game. It can lead to heightened expectations. Sadly, this is the case with Monster Energy Supercross, though not to too high of a level.

Roccat KHAN PRO Gaming Headset Review

Last time we looked at a headset from Roccat, they were nice enough to send us their CROSS Multi-Platform Gaming Headset. Today, we will be taking a look at the Khan Pro headset which is similar to the cross but has new and updated features. Roccat is known for offering some amazing value for money peripherals. Coming in at around £65 at the time of review, the Khan Pro is one of their latest offerings in the headset market. While the Khan Pro looks familiar to other Roccat headsets, it will be interesting to see what is different and if these differences add any performance gains.

The Khan Pro is a lightweight headset designed to offer good sound at a decent price-point. While lightweight, the Khan Pro is still durable enough to meet the demand of most gamers. While they will break if thrown down and stomped on, they can take a quick swiping off the head without having to worry about them breaking. While I don’t suggest this, it is always nice to know your peripherals can take a little bit of a beating from time to time. I know gamers are very patient and don’t rage at all, but you never know what may happen! Jokes aside, the Khan Pro looks like a decent little headset on paper and if Roccat has stayed true to themselves, it should perform fairly well. So, let’s take a quick look at the Tech Specs before we get into a closer look at the headset itself.

The Station Review

The Station is an interesting tale of first contact between two very different civilizations. Taking place on a once undetectable space station hovering above an alien planet that was sent to monitor the world, players are sent to investigate its communication blackout and how the lifeforms beyond reacted to its sudden appearance.

The Station builds on an uncomfortable level of tension as you explore the small structure. You are isolated, above an unfamiliar world and seemingly not alone. As you begin to investigate the site, you find that the aliens below may have come to visit. There were some genuinely creepy moments in the game that made me pause, and they were spaced out well enough that it never felt overdone.
