Intel’s failures with the 820 and Rambus left VIA open to the mass market to be the first to market a chipset with true 133Mhz FSB. First doesn’t exactly mean best. VIA got a lot of early sales but Intel rebounded fairly quickly with the release of the PC133 supporting 810 and 815 chipsets which proved to have considerably better performance making the 815 the standard since the 820 + Rambus combo proved to be too expensive for most users.
