Fortunately, the stuff I've just looked at is more interesting than the grease that PC assemblers know and loathe. It's phase-change material that you can apply yourself. It works better than grease. It's easier to apply. It's easier to clean up. It looks like lipstick for robots. And it's made by Power Devices, a Loctite company, which means that any half-decent engineering supply place should be able to sell it to you.
