3dXtreme has posted an article taking a quick look at voltage and instability problems relating to power supply issues.
The first time I experienced this I was installing Windows Millennium. As soon as the drives would spin up about halfway through the installation it would reboot and I wasn't sure why. Being a glutton for punishment I did a format c: /q and started to reload Windows ME again sure enough at the same stage it self rebooted. I made slight bios changes to ram timings and such and proceeded to reformat and reload Win ME for a few hours that evening. Out of curiosity I hit the Del key and headed into my bios checking the pc health screen. My +5 volt line was 4.7 and slowly rising back up to around 4.85.Read more
