Computex 2014 Event Coverage: Asus

No Computex would be complete without the powerhouse of Asia in computing, Asus. One of the most popular brands over seas and of course one of the most popular in the US for laptops, motherboards, and mobile devices, we just had to stop by after the Asus Press Event and see their full line of products. Nick from Asus was kind enough to give us a video interview and show us some of their latest and greatest products for 2014. Computex 2014 Event Coverage: Final Press Conference

While Computex 2014 saw only small growth (1%) the show still delivered on approximately 25 Billion (with a B) in total business opportunities. The show attained a total of 130,000 visitors with 38, 662 of those being international visitors. Show organizers helped in bringing 1840 procurement meetings to fruition with key buyers including Siemens AG, Hisense, Toshiba, MA Laboratories, and Best Buy. There were over 45 new product announcements at this years show.

Computex 2014 Event Coverage: Patriot

Patriot showed us some of their new products in a private demo in their suite. As you know they have their full line of memory products ranging from Viper DDR3 to their new DDR4 and flash based memory products. New for Computex 2014 is their new Fuel iON product line and OTG line.

Patriot will of course reveal their DDR4 line and have it ready for consumers in Q3 -4 of this year along with the release of Intel's new CPU's and the X99 chipset. They were unable to show us a working sample in their suite but we have no doubt their will have products ready for you when the time is right.

Additionally Patriot is working on M.2 MSATA drives and PCIE SSD drives for all your speed and storage needs. Patriot also showed us some of their accessory line for iPad's and Android tablets including bluetooth keyboards and cases.

We had the opportunity to browse their latest offerings and sit down with Shannon to talk about just two of their amazing line of products. With everything from cases, watercooling, power supplies, gaming headsets, gaming keyboards, and their LUXA line to the new Level 10M wireless mouse and Titanium Edition Level 10M case it seems that Thermaltake has it all. It goes without saying that overclocking has vast become a popular practise for devoted hardware enthusiasts. NVIDIA GeForce GT 740: I'd Rather Have Maxwell

NVIDIA recently began shipping their TITAN Z graphics card that sports two unlocked GK110 GPU cores and 12GB of video memory, but for those that can't afford this $2,999 USD graphics card, on the opposite end they also began shipping a new budget graphics card: the GeForce GT 740. At Phoronix today we are seeing how well the EVGA GeForce GT 740 Super Clocked graphics card compares to many other NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon graphics cards under Linux. There's also a number of AMD/NVIDIA Linux performance-per-Watt metrics, GPU thermal data, etc, in this latest Linux graphics card review.

Turn Windows into Mac OS X Yosemite

Windows users have several options when it comes to modifying the visual appeal of their system. From installing standard themes that do not require any system changes whatsoever but only change some visuals such as the background wallpaper to full themes and total conversions that change it dramatically.

Apple just announced the new version of Mac OS X called Yosemite which features better integration with iOS8 and several interface modifications such as new icons.

It did not take long for someone to create a total conversion package for Windows. Using it you can change the theme of Windows that you are currently running to Mac OS X Yosemite.
