Europe´s largest cable operator United Pan-Europe Communications said today it had chosen software from Liberate Technologies for its digital interactive TV service on the Vienna network.

Eight percent UPC shareholder Microsoft failed to gain the contract to supply software for one of the largest networks in the UPC system, after delays in delivering its software for the Amsterdam roll-out originally planned for September.
