Voodoo Extreme has posted news concerning the Voodoo 5 6000.
Man, I knew this was going to happen, that they were going to delay it past the Summer and into the Fall. I asked 3dfx´s Brian Burke the status of the Voodoo5 5500, and if we´ll see it during the Summer (since the Summer is winding down, and since 3dfx has always said that it will be a Summer release), and this is what I get back (a smack to the face):
Development of the Voodoo5 6000 is going very well. We are expecting it to be the premier graphics accelerator for raw frame rates and visual quality. Plans are to have the Voodoo5 6000 out in the fall.

Keep in mind, we received this bit from 3dfx´s Alf Covey on July 27th, 2000:
Okay, I know there´s a lot of talk out there citing some kind of statement that we are cancelling the Voodoo5 6000. 3dfx never made any such statement. This is not the first such rumor and it is doubtful it will be the last (even after the thing is released, I´ll wager), but this one has unfortunately somehow made it into "official" channels. So I´m here to put an end to the conjecture and worry... the Voodoo5 6000 has NOT been cancelled and we are still planning on a summer release.
