SAN JOSE, Calif.- June 9, 2000 -3dfx Interactive:registered: Inc. (NASDAQ:TDFX), today announced the availability of its highly anticipated Voodoo5 5500 AGP in leading retail chains and e-tailers worldwide. Voodoo5 5500 AGP is the first consumer graphics board to offer application-independent, 3D API compatible, real-time, full-scene hardware anti-aliasing (FSAA). Anti-aliasing is a 3D-graphics rendering technique that eliminates visual artifacts such as jagged edges, moiré patterns and pixel popping, rendering problems commonly seen on competitive products. The result of utilizing the Voodoo5 anti-aliasing technology is a much more realistic 3D rendered image.

On the heels of the company´s most successful pre-order campaign-the Voodoo5 pre-order program revenues exceeded last year´s Voodoo3 program sales by nearly 25 percent-retail demand for the Voodoo5 5500 is expected to be high. "We were excited to be a part of the Voodoo5 pre-order program and we are delighted that it met with such success," stated Michele Azar, merchandising manager at Best Buy, the nation´s largest consumer electronics retailer. "We anticipate that consumer demand for this new product will be even greater as it arrives in our stores."
