Our criteria for this one was simple: the boards must feature some form of VRM cooling to be considered, and of course, pricing. Spending over $100 on a B360 motherboard is ill-advised, we strongly suggest you target about $80 unless there was a special requirement. In other words, Intel B360 motherboards are reserved for budget builds, for everything else go with Z370 instead.

The UFO-themed G100M is a spiffy-looking RGB CPU cooler designed for low-profile chassis. Is it as cool as it looks?

Cooler Master, at CES 2018 in Las Vegas, announced a new cooler for its air-cooling arsenal: the MasterAir G100M. Based on what looks like a 1950s-era sci-fi saucer, the G100M looks like it jumped out of a cheesy alien-invasion film. A sleek, rounded top and gentle curves slope downward to meet the angular fin housing, giving the cooler a low, wide profile.

Empires Apart Review

The real-time strategy genre used to be all the rage a few years ago, but eventually left the spotlight as gamers’ tastes changed. One game in particular, Age of Empires II, was all the rage, thanks to its gameplay mechanics and solid campaign. Sure, at the end of the day, the game was all about getting enough resources to create a huge army that could overwhelm the enemy, but there was a certain satisfaction in seeing such an army move on the map and obliterate anything standing in its way. If this type of experience is right up your alley, and if you want to test your strategic abilities against other players, Empires Apart is the game for you.

Unlike Age of Empires II and other similar Medieval RTS, Empires Apart doesn’t feature a single player campaign so there’s no explanation for all these diverse armies clashing against one another. The game does feature some single player content, such as Skirmishes, where players can train against the AI and choose map type and size and number of opponents, Survival, where players have to survive against hordes of AI controlled enemies, and Challenges, 6 unique scenarios for each civilization which task players with completing set objectives. Sadly, these single player modes get old very quickly, so the lack of a proper campaign is definitely damaging.

General: Elgato Green Screen Review

As you know, we do a good amount of streaming and video work here at MMORPG.com, so when Elgato said they’d send us one of their pop-up Elgato Green Screens for review, we jumped at the chance. Simply put, there’s no better option for a portable and easily collapsible green screen to use for streaming and video work.

The Elgato Green Screen was out of the box and up and in an operational state in less than 5 minutes, tops. It’s that easy. The case is a super sturdy black aluminum with the Elgato branding on it. It closes with two small clasps keeping it locked, and has two swivel feet on either end to make it stable for standing mode. Setting it up is as simple as unlocking those feet, and opening the clasps and lid, then pulling the screen up to standing position. Voila done.

Plantronics Rig 400 & Rig 600 Review

2014 was the year we first acquainted ourselves with the Plantronics Rig headset. Meanwhile, the manufacturer has expanded the Rig gaming headsets series with more models, of which we have tested two relatively affordable examples. The Rig 400 and Rig 600 cost 53 pounds / 60 euros and 70 pounds / 80 euros respectively and come with a few special features.

The most special aspect of these headsets is that the Rig 400 is an official Dolby Atmos headphone. In the box we find an activation code for the corresponding software, which normally costs you 13 pounds / 15 euros via the Windows Store. An important note in this respect is that “Atmos for Headphones” works differently from Atmos that we know from home cinema sets and the cinema, about which more on the next page.

Today we’ll be taking a quick look at the Thermaltake View 28 RGB Mid-Tower Chassis. This tool-less mid-tower chassis is made from SPCC steel (COLD rolled steel) and is suitable for all motherboards, including full-size ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX form factor.
