Western Digital To Ship 3 TB Hard Disk Drives
TechARP posted an editorial: Western Digital To Ship 3 TB Hard Disk Drives

Western Digital launched the industry's first 2 TB hard disk drive back in January of 2009, the 2 TB WD Caviar Green. This was followed up by the Hitachi 7K2000 in August 2009 - the first 2 TB hard disk drive with a spindle speed of 7,200 RPM. Unfortunately, there has been no further progress since then.

It was not for a lack of trying though. Every hard disk drive manufacturer in the world has to deal with the problem of the 2.1 TB capacity limit, which was brought about by the LBA addressing limit in 32-bit operating systems. This problem can be solved by switching to 48-bits Long LBA, but this will only work with newer 64-bit operating systems. There was also the issue of updating the GUID Partition Table (GPT) to support Master Boot Record partitions that are larger than 2.1 TB.

The good news is that they are close to a solution!

ECS GeForce GTX 460 Black review
The Guru of 3D posted a review on the ECS GeForce GTX 460 Black series

We review the ECS GeForce GTX 460 Black series. Within the entire scope of Fermi GPU based graphics cards from NVIDIA the GeForce GTX 460 has to be the most interesting in terms of value for money with very acceptable decent thermals and power consumption. This is why we see a lot of SKU's released for this product, with a variety of cooling and factory overclocks.

ECS Elite group also release a handful of GeForce GTX 460 cards, based on the reference design, slightly overclock yet also a BLACK series graphics card which is a factory overclocked model with an Arctic cooling Twin Turbo PRO cooler sitting on top of that GPU. We spot amazingly cool temperatures of the GPU versus a downright nice factory overclock.

Xion/AXP Lan Party Edition 700W Power Supply Review
OCC has published a review on the Xion/AXP Lan Party Edition 700W Power Supply

I've never heard of Xion or Axpertec but the Lan Party Edition 700W performed beyond my expectations. The DC load voltage regulation, DC quality and efficiency of the Xion Lan Party Edition 700W power supply is certainly approaching the levels expected of higher end power supplies but I have one or two reservations regarding the modular cable arrangement and performance of the thermally controlled cooling fan.

ASUS ENGTS450 DirectCU TOP Video Card Review
Benchmark Reviews posted a review on the ASUS ENGTS450 DirectCU TOP Video Card

Last month NVIDIA launched their new midrange video card: the GeForce GTS 250. Benchmark Reviews covered the launch with two articles focusing on single-card performance and SLI performance at reference clock speeds. In this review, we turn our attention to partner products. Specially, we take a look at an overclocked GTS 450 offered by ASUS. With a 925MHz core clock speed and DDR5 running at 4000MHz, the ENGTS450 DirectCU TOP ships out well above the reference clocks speeds we benchmarked at during the launch and represents ASUS' highest out-the-door overclock. In this review, we'll put it to the test against a similar clocked offering from EVGA, AMD's HD5770, and one of the previous generation's top cards: the HD4870.

NZXT Sentry LXE Fan Controller Review
OCIA.net has posted their review of the NZXT Sentry LXE Fan Controller

The introduction from NZXT is what first caught my eye on this. The Sentry LXE is different from the prior models that we have reviewed due to it being a stand-alone controller. The LXE features a controller card that takes up a rear expansion slot, a cable that is run to the controller, and the controller itself. The previous models had it taking up a 5.25" expansion bay.

Antec Lanboy Air Review
Vortez.co.uk posted a review on the Antec Lanboy Air

When you think modular, you think power supplies. The ability to separate and recombine, that's what the word modular means and it isn't just the power supply that manufacturers Antec are wanting to incorporate this design concept into, its now with cases too.

With inherent customisation about its structure, the Lanboy Air is the next step in open-air case innovation. The Lanboy Air hopes to give enthusiasts, gamers and modders the playground they always wanted - with the space for up to 15 fans, 11 drive bays, and support for up to 16" on the graphics card this surely has to be the case to end all cases?

Lara Croft and the Guardian Of Light (PC) Review
KitGuru Gaming posted a review on Lara Croft and the Guardian Of Light for the PC

When I was asked to review this game I will admit I groaned in expectant anticipation of yet another third person adventure romp through various boring jungles. To say that this series has become a monumental bore to me would be the understatement of the year. Thankfully this is probably the best game featuring Lara Croft in the last decade. Best of all, it only costs a tenner on Steam!

Radiopaq Dots Review
KitGuru posted Radiopaq Dots Review

Although some people are willing to spend upward of £100 on a premium set of earphones, there are many more who cannot afford top-end audio hardware and will opt for a cheap and cheerful product instead. But the lower end of the market is filled with hundreds, possibly thousands of different earphones so choosing between them can often be difficult.

Today we are going to look at a set of ‘Dots’ earphones from Radiopaq which come it around the £15 mark. There are certainly cheaper options out there but Radiopaq have a whole lot of reasons to justify this. We shall see if their claim of ‘The tiny earphones with a big sound’ proves to be true in our testing.
