Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), based in Redmond, Wash., plans to incorporate its software for digital television set-top boxes -- dubbed Microsoft TV -- into the so-called Whistler version of its flagship personal-computer operating system, which is due to be released in the second half of next year. The company plans to demonstrate a trial version of the software at the International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam on Friday, people familiar with Microsoft´s strategy say.
