Industry experts have said that, despite Microsoft´s claims, Windows 2000 "hasn´t got the guts" to support large enterprise-class virtual private networks (VPNs).

Microsoft last week released the results of a VPN comparison conducted by US testing firm NSTL, which said: "The server-based scalability of Microsoft Windows 2000 VPN meets the needs of even the largest organisation."
