Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered Review: A forgotten gem reborn

Four years after its original release on Xbox 360, Assassin's Creed Rogue has been remastered on the Xbox One. Between its exclusive release on last-gen consoles in 2014 (a full year after the release of the Xbox One) and the fact it came out alongside Assassin's Creed Unity, a game with significantly more marketing, Assassin's Creed Rogue is a title that many gamers didn't even know existed. Despite an excellent story and solid mechanics, Rogue ultimately wasn't as successful as it could have been.

The remastered edition that recently released for Xbox One gives the game another opportunity to shine. While the graphics sadly aren't anything to rave about, the qualities that made the original great are still here, and thus the game is as good now as it was then.

Huawei MateBook X Pro Review

Laptops are exercises in compromise, with companies sacrificing what they deem to be unnecessary features on the twin altars of portability and longevity. The decisions on what to keep and what to ditch will ultimately be how the hardware is judged in the real world. Huawei's fourth traditional laptop, the MateBook X Pro, manages to avoid most of the pitfalls around cramming decent hardware in a slender, good-looking body. In fact, it might even be good enough to make laptop buyers think twice about simply running back to the usual cluster of brands.

There once was a time when premium Android phones reigned supreme. If you wanted your smartphone of choice to run Google’s operating system, you’d have to part with substantial sums of money to the likes of HTC, LG, or Samsung. Fortunately for those of us that want the flexibility of Android without the iPhone price tag, the market has changed since then.

Relatively inexpensive Android phones began to appear, but they were poor quality and lacked standard features. Thankfully, this is no longer the case. Affordable Android phones now give the big name flagship devices a run for their money. Case in point: the Nubia Z17 Lite.

SteelSeries Apex M750 Aluminum Core Mechanical Esports Keyboard Review

The brand new Apex M750 Aluminum Core Mechanical Esports Keyboard by SteelSeries may not look as nice as the award winning M800 model which came before it but thanks to its anodized aerospace-grade aluminum frame, QX2 switches and per-key RGB lighting it's just as capable.

Judging by all the comments under our reviews and some of the emails and social media messages we've been getting lately although not everyone out there may like RGB lighting (and let's not forget that with most such products you can still use single colors) the truth of the matter is that thanks to that most if not all gaming peripheral lines by the majority of manufacturers in the market have recently been updated either with brand new models or with revamped older ones. This of course doesn't mean it's raining quality gaming peripherals lately because of the addition of RGB lighting but the more new products the more chances of that happening. SteelSeries also updated their keyboard line recently and the Apex M750 Aluminum Core Mechanical Esports Keyboard is not only their top of the line model but it's also been sitting on our desk for the past 13 days.

Windows on ARM Benchmarked

Microsoft has come up with some strange ideas over the years. Their latest one, which has been coming from a while, is running Windows on ARM processors once again, with the help of Qualcomm and some daring device manufacturers. This new Windows on ARM initiative was announced in 2016 and formally launched last year, and now we have laid our hands on the very first Windows on ARM device, the HP Envy x2, for some serious benchmarking.

The HP Envy x2 is not running an Intel or AMD x86 processor, but an ARM-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, the same system-on-a-chip used by many of 2017’s flagship Android smartphones. It will soon be joined by other devices from Asus and Lenovo, using the same SoC for what should be largely the same results.

Z370 Mini-ITX Motherboards Review

With Coffee Lake we also saw the introduction of the Z370-chipset. Of course this also means a new set of motherboards. This includes Mini-ITX motherboards, which we compare in this review. Today we take a look at the ASRock Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming ITX/ac, the ASUS ROG Strix Z370-I Gaming and the Gigabyte Z370N-WiFi.

Although the HTPC is on its way out thanks to good built-in multi-media support of televisions and devices like the Nvidia Shield, the Mini-ITX form factor remains very popular. The shift from ATX to Micro-ATX seems to be retroactive, but thanks to the possibility of powerful hardware in a small enclosure ITX remains. You cannot use multiple graphics cards using this format, quad channel memory or big processor coolers. However, this does not mean that you cannot build a powerful system at 17 by 17 centimetres, because with the advent of a larger number of cores on the mainstreamsockets there is more computing power than ever before on Mini-ITX.
