Microsoft is finally making the move to a single core OS a reality. With the release of Windows XP the aged WIN 9X core will finally be gone. This move should increase the reliability of the home user OS because, the core of XP is built on the proven track record of Windows 2000. In the past I have seen typical Win 9X systems last for about a year before needing to be rebuilt. Microsoft has also added some items to the core that will make life allot easier. Product Activation, however has created some concerns, it seems in our community.
