Neowin reports that Microsoft has announced the first details of its new Xbox Music service, which will offer free streaming music for Windows 8 and RT, plus numerous services to Windows Phone 8 and Xbox 360

The service will also be made available for Xbox 360 owners starting on Tuesday and on Windows Phone 8 devices in the near future. Both will require a $9.99 monthly subscription. In addition to the streaming service, Microsoft will offer an Xbox Music Store for people to purchase and download songs.

The service will also have what Microsoft is calling Smart DJ to help create personal playlists. Microsoft states, "With unlimited skips and a view of the full recommended music stream, Smart DJ puts you in control of your Internet radio experience."
