4K Trailer Released for Red Dead Redemption 2 PC

If youre a super patient PC gamer just like me, youve waited a long time for Red Dead Redemption 2. I havent played even a minute of it on a console. I own the consoles, I even have access to a copy of the game, but alas, I wait.

Addlink S70 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD Review

How good (or bad) is a 110 M2 SSD bought from Amazon? We received an email from Addlink claiming they offer an SSD (Addlink S70 1TB NVMe PCIe 3x4 SSD) that often gets compared to fast as Samsung EVO 970's nightmare in relation the price of just 114 USD for 1TB.

AMD EPYC vs. Intel Xeon Cascadelake With Facebooks RocksDB Database

Following the benchmarks earlier this month looking at PostgreSQL 12.0 on AMD EPYC Rome versus Intel Xeon Cascade Lake there was interest from Phoronix readers in wondering how well Rome is doing for other modern enterprise database workloads. One of those workloads that was recently added to the Phoronix Test Suite / OpenBenchmarking.org is Facebook's RocksDB, the company's embedded database that is forked from Google LevelDB. With RocksDB being designed to exploit many CPU cores and modern SSD storage, here are some benchmarks looking at how the Xeon Platinum 8280 stacks up against various new AMD EPYC 7002 series processors.

ASRock RX 5700 XT Taichi Review

In today's review we have ASRock's very first graphics card under the Taichi banner. The RX 5700 XT Taichi pushes the same design philosophy from their flagship boards, to the new flagship GPU. Taichi arrives with a solid, triple-fan configuration and a factory overclock which sees this card climb to the top of the 5700 XT leaderboard.

Autonomous Kinn Chair Review

Office chairs, whether they be for a home office or a corporate work space, are a personal thing for any self-respecting desk jockey. For most folks, it's all about ergonomics and comfort rather than style points, though certainly industrial design aesthetics shouldn't have to be compromised. Autonomous has made a concerted effort to try and strike this delicate balance with its new Kinn Chair. Known more so for its family of adjustable, intelligent sit-stand desks, Autonomous also makes a line of related "smart office" equipment. And though the Kinn Chair isn't motorized with memory presets like the Automous SmartDesk 2 (nor would it need to be), the Kinn Chair does have a way of adapting itself to your personal frame with an array of springs in the seat and a spine of sorts in its back...

be quiet! Shadow Wings 2 Fan Review

be quiet! is making these fans in several different models and I have received several of them as well. However, there are some common features that can be lined up. Funny enough, it is actually the PWM fans in the series that make the most noise, but you can't say 'noise' in that sense. Because that's not what I would define the whispering noise they make. Also note that there is a full 3-year warranty on these fans and they are guaranteed a lifetime of 80,000 hours, which is 9 years of nonstop running. The fans are not intended for coolers or radiators, as they cannot deliver a static pressure that is high enough, they are for casing and airflow only.

Dell Latitude 13 7300 Review

There's not much to dislike about the Latitude 13 7300 after using it as my primary device. If you're a professional who needs a new business partner, this could be it.

Dell's refreshed 13-inch Latitude 7300 is a business-class notebook that manages to keep its chassis relatively thin and light while still delivering a healthy mix of extra security and productivity-focused features. It has above-average audio, strong battery life, and excellent performance. I used it for about a week to see what it's all about and whether or not it's cut out to be your next device.

Endgame Gear XM1 Gaming Mouse Review

When it comes to competitive gaming, complexity isn’t something you want. You want to streamline your experience so you can focus on what matters; winning! The Endgame Gear XM1 is as simple as gaming mice come, or at least, it seems simple. It features no complex macro features, no RGB lighting, no complex button configurations. It doesn’t even have the CPI button up on the top of the mouse. What kind of gamer would want this? It was developed with eSports champions and is used by them. No doubt, many others will follow their lead on that one.

GIGABYTE AORUS NVMe Gen4 SSD Review

Utilising the industry's first PCI-E 4.0 storage controller, the Phison PS5016-E16, as well as DDR4 caching and Toshiba's BiCS4 96-layer NAND, the Gen4 SSD offers read and write speeds of 5000MB/s and 4400MB/s respectively, with 750K and 700K read and write IOPS. If you're familiar with drives like the Samsung 970 PRO or the Western Digital SN750, the best that PCI-E 3.0 had to offer, the promise of 5GB/s and 4.4GB/s will certainly get the juices flowing.

Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus Review

Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus are the latest iteration of my much-loved MW07 true wireless in-ear headphones. The new model adds active noise cancellation, and dramatically better battery-life – a pretty impressive trick to pull off.
With anything audio-related, there is always a trade-off to be made between sound quality and cost. But theres also a sliding scale with best audio quality at one end and mobile convenience at the other end.

MSI Optix MPG341CQR Review

MSI's best gaming monitor to date. It takes more than just a powerful graphics card to make the most of PC gaming. Those wanting to maximise the experience need to consider a high-end monitor, and as we approach the tail end of 2019, there's no shortage of choice from a number of players vying for a slice of this lucrative market.

MSI entered the arena with its Optix line of gaming displays just a few years ago, and has since gone on to launch over a dozen different models under its G-Series (entry level), MAG Series (mid-range) and MPG Series (high-end) umbrellas. The latest addition is the £870 Optix MPG341CQR, which on paper has the potential to be MSI's best monitor to date.

SilentiumPC Navis EVO ARGB 240 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler Review

Even though there's no denying really that the introduction of RGB lighting a few years back brought forth numerous aesthetical changes/improvements in the electronics industry it didn't take long for manufacturers to tweak it even further. The very first ARGB (Addressable RGB - this technology allows a different color to be assigned on each individual LED) devices made their debut last year and although to date not all implementations have managed to surpass what we've seen from their RGB counterparts this technology does offer significantly higher customization levels. Earlier this year SilentiumPC released their very first RGB illuminated AIO liquid CPU cooler line under the name Navis RGB (review here) which was updated back in July to include ARGB components. The name of this brand new line of AIO liquid CPU coolers is the Navis EVO RGB and today we'll be testing the 240mm dual-fan variant.

Since 2007 SilentiumPC brings well-made CPU coolers, cases and power supplies with main focus on exceptional value for money achieved through effective design and smart cost-cutting. No fancy trademark names, just well-thought-out products designed to work, chosen and praised by value-minded enthusiasts and system integrators.

Thermaltake A700 TG Review

The Thermaltake A700 TG is an uncompromising full-tower chassis that offers extremes in many areas, from material mix to liquid-cooling capabilities or even just sheer size and weight. While that comes at a price, it is refreshing to see its over-the-top approach in-line with pricing - you definitely get what you pay for.

XFX RX 5700 XT THICC II Ultra Review

Continuing with my coverage of the aftermarket AMD RX 5700 models, the first RX 5700 XT that came in was from XFX. They sent over their top of the line model, the RX 5700 THICC II Ultra. Now the THICC branding kind of goes along with the Fatboy branding that I made fun of at the RX590 launch and adding Ultra in as well for the name does make the cards name a little crazy, silly, and long. But none of those things have anything to do with performance. Beyond maybe being a little embarrassed when you tell everyone your new video card is THICC, the name isn’t even in the top 5 things to worry about with your video card purchase. So today I’m going to focus on the card itself, how it performs, and I want to take a look at the new cooler design. Is the new look XFX going back to some of their great past designs or is it sticking with the flashy fake carbon fiber type theme they have been doing recently? Initial looks put the new design as looking good, but let’s find out more.
