Acer Spin 5 Review

8th Gen Intel Core in a 15.6in convertible. Acer occupies a rather useful niche in the laptop space. The PC giant tends not to compete with the ultra-high-end systems that many covet but few can afford, and instead straddles that advantageous middle ground between good value and good performance, making it a go-to brand for customers seeking a half-decent laptop that doesn't break the bank.

One such example is the 2018 Spin 5, which offers an 8th Gen Intel Core processor in a sleek body priced from £650. Unfortunately, settling on a Spin 5 specification isn't particularly easy. Acer's available models tend to vary significantly between regions, and in the UK there's no option to configure a system to suit your needs; what you see is what you get.

Alto's Odyssey for iOS Review

Probably one of the hardest aspects of game development is coming up with a suitable sequel to a popular and critically acclaimed title. There is a fine line between keeping the elements players enjoy without seeming stale or making the game look like a lazy cash grab, and that of changing the game too much that it alienates its intended audience.

Somehow, the pairing of the Toronto-based studio Snowman and UK artist Harry Nesbitt, operating under the banner of Team Alto, has managed to walk the line successfully with the release of "Alto's Odyssey."

Don't Bother with A320 Motherboards, Go for AMD's B350 Instead for Raven Ridge

We've learned most of what there is to know about AMD's new Vega-infused CPUs, but those of you thinking about buying the Ryzen 3 2200G or Ryzen 5 2400G after seeing how it competent it is as a budget gaming platform may be asking yourselves whether the chip would be best installed on an A320 or B350 motherboard.

Intel 2/8TB DC P4500 NVMe SSDs gets Reviewed

Intel has recently expanded their lineup to include some higher capacities and new form factor SSDs that are infused with their latest 64-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory. With this announcement, we were able to get our hands on some of their latest tech, 2TB and 8TB samples of their DC P4510. While these bad boys aren’t the exotic enterprise and datacenter SSD Form Factor, or EDSFF devices, their performance figures should be such that they impress most. The Intel SSD DC P4510 doubles the capacity of the DC P4500, doubles its random write IOPS/TB performance, and delivers up to a 10x reduction of service time at a QoS metric of 99.99%. Built for the cloud with a drive to minimize service disruptions as well as efficiency and manageability in mind, the Intel DC P4510 has an impressive feature set to match. With all these aspects in mind, the Intel DC P4510 looks to be a very competitive option, but how will it perform under our battery of testing? Read on and find

Mulaka Xbox One review: Gorgeous visuals held back by imperfect combat

Mulaka takes you on a wonderful journey of discovery albeit with clunky combat.

Mulaka is a third-person adventure which takes you across northern Mexico's breathtaking landscapes. The game features a blocky pastel-like aesthetic which suits the title's mystical story. The Rarámuri, or Tarahumara, are the Native American people of northwestern Mexico who are renowned for their long-distance running abilities. You embark on the journey of a Sukurúame, a Tarahumara shaman, as you fight against a darkness corrupting the land. Luckily, you can channel the power of the gods so the task isn't as daunting as it sounds.

Phanteks Enthoo Pro Tempered Glass Case Review

With high performance and flexibility as the pillars of the Enthoo Pro’s design, it was only natural for Phanteks to evolve the case’s design by adding a tempered glass side panel. Taking a design that allows for lots of airflow and liquid cooling options, without a premium price, Phanteks’ inclusion of a hinged TG side panel just makes sense. Follow us as we take a look at the Phanteks Enthoo Pro Tempered Glass Case.

Plextor M9Pe 256GB M.2 NVMe PCIe Solid State Drive Review

While not the fastest PCIe SSD to come through the 'Labs, the Plextor M9Pe delivers a lot of bang for your buck. Available with or without a heatsink, this compact, M.2 form factor SSD is powered by Marvell's 88SS1093 controller and is available with up to 1TB of Toshiba's 64-layer BiCS3 3D TLC NAND flash. Combine this with Plextor's PlexNitro technology and a PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe 1.2 interface and you have a drive capable of delivering nearly six times the performance of your average SATA 6Gb/s SSD. In our sequential read and write tests, the 256GB version of the M9Pe was able to read at speeds as high as 3,042 MB/s and write at speeds in excess of 1,060 MB/s. The M9Pe also performed fairly well when doing random reads, but lagged behind other PCIe SSDs in our random write tests, producing less than 70,000 IOPS.

Razer Hammerhead USB-C Review

USB-C headphones, because they're better than carrying a dongle.

When Razer first showed me the Razer Phone, one of the questions that popped out of my mouth was "oh, so I guess there's going to be a USB-C Hammerhead now, then?"

Of course there is, and they're available to buy now for all. Not just Razer Phone owners, but they'll be the first target audience.

SteelSeries Arctis 3 Bluetooth Headset Review

SteelSeries’ Arctis range of headsets are known for their versatility, coming with a 3.5mm headphone jack that allows the headsets to connect to pretty much any device. The SteelSeries Arctis 3 Bluetooth takes this one step further, however, giving users the ability to connect to two devices at once thanks to the added Bluetooth functionality – but at £134.99, is it worth the price?

SteelSeries Rival 600 Review

It’s been a while since I’ve seen real innovation in a mouse release but SteelSeries goes for broke with its dual sensor Rival 600. A first of its kind, the Rival 600 has a sensor dedicated to lift-off detection - but does it really make a difference? Steel Series is betting it does, especially for FPS players and professional teams when a mouse jitter could cost you the game.

VOCOlinc Smart Power Strip Review

Adding HomeKit to your house can be expensive, but as the technology progresses, more affordable options have been making their way to market that make HomeKit a viable choice for a broader market.

A couple of weeks ago, Zac reviewed Hong Kong-based VOCOlinc’s HomeKit-enabled LED light strips, noting that the price almost seemed too good to be true for a HomeKit product with no bridge required. Intrigued by the company, I decided to try out their smart power strip with HomeKit support.
