Acer Spin 5 Review

8th Gen Intel Core in a 15.6in convertible. Acer occupies a rather useful niche in the laptop space. The PC giant tends not to compete with the ultra-high-end systems that many covet but few can afford, and instead straddles that advantageous middle ground between good value and good performance, making it a go-to brand for customers seeking a half-decent laptop that doesn't break the bank.

One such example is the 2018 Spin 5, which offers an 8th Gen Intel Core processor in a sleek body priced from £650. Unfortunately, settling on a Spin 5 specification isn't particularly easy. Acer's available models tend to vary significantly between regions, and in the UK there's no option to configure a system to suit your needs; what you see is what you get.

Probably one of the hardest aspects of game development is coming up with a suitable sequel to a popular and critically acclaimed title. There is a fine line between keeping the elements players enjoy without seeming stale or making the game look like a lazy cash grab, and that of changing the game too much that it alienates its intended audience.

Somehow, the pairing of the Toronto-based studio Snowman and UK artist Harry Nesbitt, operating under the banner of Team Alto, has managed to walk the line successfully with the release of "Alto's Odyssey."

Mulaka is a third-person adventure which takes you across northern Mexico's breathtaking landscapes. The game features a blocky pastel-like aesthetic which suits the title's mystical story. Plextor M9Pe 256GB M.2 NVMe PCIe Solid State Drive Review

While not the fastest PCIe SSD to come through the 'Labs, the Plextor M9Pe delivers a lot of bang for your buck. Available with or without a heatsink, this compact, M.2 form factor SSD is powered by Marvell's 88SS1093 controller and is available with up to 1TB of Toshiba's 64-layer BiCS3 3D TLC NAND flash. Combine this with Plextor's PlexNitro technology and a PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe 1.2 interface and you have a drive capable of delivering nearly six times the performance of your average SATA 6Gb/s SSD. In our sequential read and write tests, the 256GB version of the M9Pe was able to read at speeds as high as 3,042 MB/s and write at speeds in excess of 1,060 MB/s. The M9Pe also performed fairly well when doing random reads, but lagged behind other PCIe SSDs in our random write tests, producing less than 70,000 IOPS.
